Our key focus at Marine Crew Services is on the training and employment of seafarers – both Officers and Ratings – for the international and South African maritime industry. We aim to provide our clients with a quality, tailor-made service. Our track record and past and current client base is proof of our success in this regard.
Crewing
Our crewing services cover all aspects of marine crew management from advertising, applicant screening and selection, to the documentation, clearance and mobilisation of seafarers (Officers, Ratings and Cadets).
We handle all travel and accommodation, visa and study permit arrangements, payroll, logistics, personnel records and all related and general administrative activities.
We also oversee daily operations, forward plans and ensure that all crew are in possession of all pre-joining mandatory documentation in compliance with MLC regulations, including safety certificates and valid vaccinations and medicals in line with flag state requirements.
In addition to being one of the companies appointed to manage the National Cadet Programme, we are also actively involved in recruiting high quality South African crew on behalf of our growing international client base.
And, for those who require the service, Marine Crew Services also acts as filing agents for the Marshall Islands and Liberia.
Should you require seafarer documents for these Flag States, please email crewing@marinecrewsa.com
Training
We have a proven track record in managing training programmes for all categories of sea-going personnel – Officers, Ratings and Cadets.
We maintain a close relationship with accredited training service providers in South Africa so that we are able to schedule various STCW marine safety training courses according to client requirements.
All training programmes for Deck and Engineering Cadets and Deck and Engine Ratings are accredited by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA).
